Web Design / Management

Building, and evolving, your presence on the internet

My aim is to create simple, clean, easy to use, readable, websites;
• Websites where the design doesn't gets in the way of the content
• Websites which will work correctly no matter how they are being accessed
• Websites that do not force the user/visitor to jump through hoops to find the information

As well as creating bespoke websites I am also fully experienced in managing a clients internet presence (IPM); creating a cohesive profile for individuals and businesses reaching across all areas of the web, maximising their online potential.

Broken websites

You may already have a website but it is failing to engage either with the general public or members of your organisation, it has potential but you don't know what to do with it... I have hands-on experience in restructuring existing websites (external and internal) so that they work for you, your staff, and for the general public.

I can also perform some rigorous tests of your existing site layout, and navigation system, using well-established HCI (Human Computer Interaction) techniques; this will help ensure that your website is working as smoothly as it should, and is not causing a visitor/user to become frustrated when trying to perform the simplest of tasks.

Content is King

Good trustworthy (regularly updated) content will make sure that users of your website not only continue to return but also recommend your website to others. I can help ensure that your content-ideas are appropriately refined and honed for websites, blogs, and social networking platforms such as Facebook. I can also provide effective research and testing of any text content you may already have.

Photography

Recording the world

After many years working on internet projects, I have started to develop my photography career. I am particularly interested in the life and death of architecture and urban environments - and have a substantial portfolio showing images of Hull, and the surrounding areas.

This collection of work can be found online at Flickr.
